چکیده

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between selected adipocytokines and Foxp3+ Treg cells in patients with asthma. Methods: The study included fifty-seven patients with asthma (30 with severe and 27 with mild to moderate asthma). The control group comprised 25 healthy volunteers. Asthma was diagnosed in accordance with GINA 2014 recommendation. The phenotype of CD4+CD25highCD127lowFoxp3+ cells was evaluated by multicolor flow cytometry. The concentrations of adipocytokine were determined by immunoenzymatic method (ELISA). Results: The percentage of CD4+CD25highCD127low Treg cells expressing Foxp3+ in the patients with severe (female 76.5% (66.1-85.2), male 67% (43.5-81.2)), were significantly lower than that of mild-to-moderate asthma (female 91.6% (78.8-94.5), male 84.5% (77.6-89.4)) and healthy controls (female 89.3% (76.6-94.6), male 94.5% (84.4-95.7)). We did not observed significant correlations between leptin or leptin receptor or adiponectin or resistin, concentration and MFC ratio. No significant correlations were observed between adipocytokine concentration and the percentage of CD4+CD25highCD127low Tregs expressing Foxp3+. Conclusions: The relationship between leptin, adiponectin, resistin and percentage of CD4+CD25highCD127low Tregs expressing Foxp3+ in patients with severe asthma was not observed.

The Effect of Plasma Exchange on the Expression of FOXP3 and RORC2 in Relapsed Multiple Sclerosis Patients

Background: Lack of sufficient information on the mechanism of plasma exchange (PE) therapy in multiple sclerosis (MS), has limited this treatment to individual patients with severe relapses who have been refractory to other treatments. This is while PE is used very successfully as a first-line standard treatment in many other neuro-immune disorders. Recent data suggest that Treg/Th17 counterb...

FoxP3+ Regulatory T Cells in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Background: Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death from malignancy in women. CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T (Treg) cells are a subset of T lymphocytes with great inhibitory impact on immune response. Objectives: To investigate the percentage of CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T cells in the peripheral blood of the Iranian patients with epithelial ovarian cancer compared to healthy women ...

Functions of Obesity-related Hormones in Breast Cancer: A Review

ABSTRACT            Obesity is a health problem defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation in adipose tissue. Adipokines such as adiponectin, visfatin and resistin are bioactive polypeptides with pro- and anti-inflammatory properties that are secreted by the adipose tissue that are involved in the pathogenesis and prognosis of diseases ...

Study of the ratio of Treg/Th1 and Treg/Th2 lymphocytes in Hodgkin's lymphoma patients and its relationship with disease prognosis

Background and purpose: CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ Tregs) are a group of T lymphocytes that play an important role in regulating immune system responses by suppressing the activity of other T cells and establishing homeostasis in the immune system. Th1 and Th2 cells are other groups of CD4+ cells that play important functions in inducing inflammatory immune responses. C...

Altered Suppressor Function of Regulatory T Cells in Type 1 Diabetes

Background: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a T cell mediated autoimmune disease targeting the insulin-producing β cells within pancreatic islets. Autoimmune diseases may develop as a consequence of altered balance between regulatory (Tregs) and autoreactive T cells. Objectives: To evaluate Treg cells frequency and suppressive function in the peripheral blood of newly diagnosed T1D patients in compari...
